In addition to exercise, meditation, yoga, progressive muscle relaxation, and all the other techniques explained in this blog, herbal supplements can be an alternative way in helping to manage stress. Some people use herbal supplements such as valerian, kava, gingko, St. John's Wort, and chamomile to relieve stress symptoms such as anxiety and insomnia. But supplements like these can be sold with limited or no research on how well they work. Talk with your doctor if you are taking supplements, especially if you have another health condition. Some of these supplements can actually decrease the effectiveness of certain medications so it very important to get all your facts stratght before taking a supplement. I don't really encounter a hole lot of stress but when I do I'm always looking for different ways to releive it becuase sometimes my normal runnig and lifting don't always work. I have some relaxation techniques I normally do as well but they dont work 100% of the time either. One thing that I have found that works for me is herbal tea. Green tea and rasberry tea, with grey spider in them is what i normally take. It calms me down and it puts me at ease.
